What To Do When a Door Closes

I've found myself praying many times in my life, "if you want me to go here Lord then open the door - show me the way."
Lately this little prayer has got me thinking though...
Sometimes God doesn't allow the door to open right up and allow us easy passage. Yes, at times a closed door means just that - a closed door (and one better left shut), but note: that's not always the case.
When you've prayed about a certain calling you feel in your life and you keep feeling, yes this is something God wants me to do, yet you don't see a way, this doesn't mean you've heard God wrong. Grant it, you may have, but deep down you know God has called you to this. You just know this is His plan. You've prayed for a long time! That door though, isn't budging.
But is it going to be that way forever?
This is the time where you must press on no matter what.
The good things in life aren't always easy to obtain. Sometimes the roads we are called to walk on don't come with a well laid out map for us to go by.
So we must begin the long journey of praying and trying to seek another answer to obtain this goal God has for our lives. We might feel fairly confident about pressing on and then....
obstacles often rise up and the mountain seems too high to climb. Sometimes the door we're looking at slams so loudly in our face we know it just must be the answer - time to turn around?
Not exactly.

|Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.| Proverbs 3:5-6

As I said - if God calls you to this then there must be a way. He is our teacher and our guide, and He wants us to have faith. A teacher at college or one at school doesn't always make things easy in a test (quite the opposite). He wants us to learn something.
God works the same way I think. He wants us to learn something in this world, and He wants us to fight for what we believe is right. I'm sure people will call you crazy, at times you'll want to call it quits, but if God says "GO" then by all means go. Don't hold back from what He has promised to you.
He has a plan and a purpose far beyond our own. A wonderful, incredible but sometimes seemly insane plan.
He will give us the courage to continue to find a way through the darkness no matter the circumstances. You can run the race knowing He will always be by your side.

Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 1 Corinthians 9:24
Yes, it will probably be scary and it's going to be hard. I do know one thing though - you will make it, and if you endure, the prize will be worth it.
If there is no test then there will be no testimony. Continue and don't look back!
