Bro & Sis Vlog [Excuse the Awkwardness]

8:11 AM

Hola readers!
First off, thank you to all who sent in questions for my Bro & Sis Q&A. I'm super awkward doing vlogs with anyone in the room, and Josiah was also so nervous he could barely be himself at first....so expect awkwardness. We're honestly not quite ourselves in the video and if you were to meet the real us you'd find us both super talkative, more loving (for some reason I felt we were too stiff haha), and just all-around more natural then below.
But of well, after three tries with the video, there wasn't much else we could do. So watch, enjoy, and feel free to laugh.
Thank you again for all your questions - I really appreciate you taking part in Saved by Grace!!!

The rest of the questions we didn't have time for...

Random snapshot - I look about thirteen and Josiah looks...I don't know what he looks like haha. Just another randon moment during the vlog.....

Clara asks...
What is your favorite shared memory growing up?

Kara: Well, I don't know if we have a shared one - there's such a big difference in our ages (him being a young teenager and me now the age considered 'adult,' but one memory I still laugh at is Josiah going through Walmart dancing with a broom down one of the aisles and singing. He was about nine maybe and it was the first time he'd ever done something completely hilarious like that in public. Remember that, Josiah?

Josiah: I don't think I could ever forget that moment!! There was just something about that broom that made me want to dance. I think I mostly did it to embarrass you though!!! Yeah that's my favorite memory too!!!!!

Emily asks...
What's some of you're favorite foods?

Kara: I love any food haha! But honestly, I do love trying more foreign food such as Mexican, Chinese and Japanese. I also love wild food such as mushrooms and ramps which are both wild picked in my state.

Josiah: I love ribs, deer meet with beans and potatoes, and apple sauce for a snack!!

What's one thing you love about each season?

Kara: I love that all the seasons are created by God and each serve such a huge purpose in giving us the best world possible. Each season is designed for our benefit and each one is so unique - I always love the changing of a season and each one is so special!

Josiah: One thing for each season? well, spring it's flowers.summer its swimming, fall its leafs. winter its snow!! I guess that's all you need to know!!

Jessica asks...
Do you have a favourite Bible verse & what does it mean to you?

Kara: My favorite Bible verse comes from Micah that says, "rejoice not over me o my enemies for when I fall I shall rise." This verse has got me through a lot of confusing, dark, scary, times and I think it's become my life-verse, one that really defines who I am. Honestly if I was ever going to stamp something permanent on my skin, this verse would be it.
When I first read the verse a few years ago, God spoke to me and said that He wanted me to allow other youth to see the same truth I had. And (like I said), the verse has become my life-verse.

Josiah: My favorite Bible verse is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that who so ever believes in him should not parish but have eternal life." This verse makes me feel good inside every time I read it. It reminds me that Jesus gave his life for me, and loves me a lot.

Thanks again for all the questions! Despite are awkwardness we had so much fun doing it, and it was a fun change from the usual stuff going on around the blog.
Oh! And check out Josiah's comic book blog (that he shares with our brother Charles Thomas). They just recently had it set up and I think they'd love a few followers. Go here and if you know some guys who are in to that sort of thing, please share.
Have a blessed rest of your week readers!

  1. Good on you for doing a vlog! I know I'd be so awkward if I tried to do one. I enjoyed watching it, and hearing your answers! I have to say though, your accents caught me by surprise. I've heard a lot of American accents, but yours are strong.. haha. Are you from the south or somewhere? (I don't know, they say the accent is stronger there.)

And wow, Kara, your favourite verse - I came across that (and the verse before it) a few months ago when I was feeling down, and it was such a huge help to me too! That's such a precious truth you have to share with others. I can't wait to see where God leads you. xx

    1. Thanks so much dear Jessica!!! <3 <3 <3 Haha, and they probably did because they seem to catch everyone who doesn't live in our state out of surprise....I'll tell you where we live for sure in our e-mails since I hate giving out that info over the blog but we kinda live in the south but southerners wouldn't like us to say that haha because it's more north.

I can't wait to see where God leads you either! He's going to do so much amazing things in your life - I can tell!

    2. Sure - I understand. I also meant to say before, even though you said it felt stiff, you both still across as loving! Your brother was so sweet with his descriptions of you too. :) And, you want to learn violin?! I 100% recommend it. ;) Piano is lots of fun too though.

Thanks for your encouraging words, Kara. It means a lot!

    3. Aww thanks!!!!! I was hoping we came across that way instead of all stiff and awkward which is the opposite of real life. YES I want to play the violin and if I had money I know someone who'd teach me! =)
